 | Seminario `Universality Aspects of Disordered Magnetic Systems` - 20 de marzoTendrá lugar en la Sala de Juntas pequeña a las 12:00 h.Será impartido por el Dr. Nikolaos G. Fytas (Dpto. de Fisica Teorica I, Universidad Complutense de Madrid) Abstract: Universality, one of the cornerstones in the modern theory of critical phenomena, has been severely questioned under the presence of quenched randomness. In this talk, I present some recent results of our research concerning the effects of disorder to Ising-like types of models in two- and three-dimensions. Extensive computer simulations, based mainly on the Wang-Landau algorithm, have provided us with confirmative answers, opening at the same time new routes for investigations of relevant problems, taken also from the field of soft matter physics. Ideas and preliminary research projects along these lines are discussed. |
